Cognis has assumed a leading position in the market for raw materials and additives for cosmetics, detergents and cleaners. The Care Chemicals division includes the entire range of products for the manufacture of hair, skin and body care products, as well as detergents and cleaners for domestic and industrial purposes.

With natural ingredients and healthy nutrition know-how, Cognis offers products, formulations and marketing-orientated concepts for food, beverages and dietary supplements: From plant based sterols via plant extracts and mixed carotinoids through to products for active body composition management and omega-3 fatty acids. Cognis is also one of the world's leading producers of natural based Vitamin E.

Cognis uses its extensive chemical and coating expertise and offers solutions that are consistently geared to ecological compatibility and application and consumer safety. Pulcra Chemicals
Pulcra Chemicals is an internationally active company, offering specialized chemical products and process expertise to customers in the fiber, textile, and leather industries.  For customers in the fiber industry, the company offers additives for the manufacture and processing of man-made fibers. For the textile industry, it provides products and technical services for every stage of the production process, from the  manufacture of yarns and fabrics, through dyeing and printing, right up to the final treatment. Its leather products are used in beamhouse, tanning, and finishing processes. Since July 1, 2007 Pulcra Chemicals has been trading as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Cognis.

Cognis Oleochemicals
Cognis Oleochemicals is one of the world's largest producers of oleochemicals derived from renewable raw materials. The 50:50 joint venture of Cognis and Golden Hope Plantations Berhad, based in Selangor, Malaysia, also supplies the three strategic business units of Cognis and Pulcra Chemicals with basic products. Cognis and Golden Hope have been working together in a joint venture since 1989. In February 2006, the partners expanded the scope of the existing joint venture. Cognis brought its global oleochemical business into the joint partnership. Cognis Oleochemicals will be managed as a subsidiary of the Cognis Group with Cognis responsible for the management side.
