Filled for a longer lifetime
30 times around the world without changing the axle and transmission oil – Cognis Synlubes break every record. In an endurance test, they now have covered 1.6 million miles. The advantage for automotive industry and consumers – Cognis transmission and axle lubes enable warranties up to 750,000 miles ex factory without needing a lubricant change.
Product range Cognis offers for transportation:
Transmission Fluids
Gear Lubricants
Engine Lubricants
Hydraulic Fluids
Greases
MIL Spec Lubes
Increasingly heavy loading and longer maintenance intervals require exceptional lubricants. Synlubes from Cognis meet high demands – for longer warranties for medium and heavy-duty trucks, and extended lifetimes for the individual components, as well as an environmental compatibility that sets new standards. Cognis supplies a wide product range of high performance lubricants for transportation.
Major global companies like Eaton, Volvo, Dana, Meritor and DaimlerChrysler, serving the world’s largest manufacturers of commercial vehicles, promise that their components for medium- and heavy-duty trucks will run 750,000 miles ex factory without needing a lubricant change. That’s triple the prior warrantied mileage. This increase was made possible by the powerful synthetic fluids from Cognis, which have now won worldwide approvals. The long life Cognis lubricants enable not only considerably longer maintenance intervals, but less downtime and thus noticeably lower operating costs. And finally, a longer service life for the transmissions and axles, to say nothing of the definite reduction in used oil waste.
In addition to comprehensive laboratory analyses, we also believe in conducting long-time tests under real conditions. We filled an Eaton gearbox and the axles of a Kenworth truck with our Cognis Synlubes. After 1.6 million miles without changing the axle and transmission fluids, we removed the parts and could detect no signs of wear or deposits. One of the reasons for this is our Synlubes’ constant viscosity within a temperature range of +40°C to -40°C (+104°F to -40°F). This prevents material damage and power loss in cold start up situations, as well as insufficient lubrication at high temperatures. With conventional, petroleum-based products, the lubricating film could tear in such cases. Read more about the 1.6 million miles truck.
